I applied on the Rabobank website in November 2018, completing six relatively lengthy motivational questions in addition to a cover letter. I was asked to complete an online skills assessment in January 2019. In April, I was asked to confirm what desk in Rabobank I'd like to join. In May, it was confirmed what desk I'd be interviewing for. There was no communication during these lengthy gaps, despite repeated emails. For most of the process, I had assumed I had been silently rejected.
The first and only interview was on-site at Rabobank's London office with an MD and graduate Associate. (I was told Rabobank usually organises an assessment centre for internships.) The interview was casual and enjoyable: the interview was conversational, it was dress-down Friday and the interview was held on the sunny roof terrace overlooking the Thames. Questions were asked were standard: why this bank, why this desk and a few behavioural questions.
