They contacted me for an initial interview. After that I had a second interview about a week later and then they told me I would hear back in a couple weeks about a final interview. I bumped them at the two week mark and again a week after. After my second month they got back to me saying they were still making decisions and it wasn't until over a month after the second interview that they said they weren't gonna give me a final interview. I was a little irritated as it took a while for them to tell me I wasn't going further and I felt kind of strung along.

After applying via OCR, I was contacted about a phone interview. The phone interview was basically just a feeler about my experience, resume, interests, etc. It was fairly straightforward in a conference call format. I was told I'd be contacted by the next Friday at the latest. Over 2 weeks later I had not received a response, so I e-mailed them. I was in fact chosen for a final round interview, but they were slow to respond to people (over 5 days past when I was told was the latest I would be contact). A day or two before the interview, I was told I had to complete an application and have it faxed or scanned and e-mailed to them (it is literally just a scanned document they send you, so you can't type directly to it--not the most technologically adept). I then had to take a personality interview--also in the couple days preceding the interview. It was unorganized and haphazard to say the least. I had the interview and it lasted ~4 hours in their office. Their office in Chicago is quite unkempt to say the least. I then interviewed with the 2 directors in the office about my skills, the job, etc. Then there was a series of case studies, lots of interviews with people in the WRJ office via a teleconference, and more. The case studies themselves were relatively easy and off-putting (if that is the line of work you're interested in, more power to you). Anyway, after the interview, I exchanged cards with the directors and things seemed okay. This all took place and I was told I would hear back, at the absolute latest, by the next Friday (it was a Wednesday). I never heard from them. I tried to call their office a couple times, but still did not hear from them. A full week AFTER that, I received an e-mail from an HR assistant. Intermittently, I received an offer for about double the money they offer (which is nearly slave wage and way below market, mind you--just ask them during the interview) and about called them to tell off the poorly organized HR, but decided to be diplomatic and try to call, so I could hear back and perhaps leverage the offer. Either way, while the people I met were very nice, the HR department is one of the most unorganized I have ever been exposed to (and my school's career office was absolutely baffled by their actions and ineptitude) and the job is absolute crap pay. I get paid more doing research part-time than they offer.
