Time-wasting at its finest. Came early as you do, then asked to sit and wait in a open area room. A panel of 3 came in and introduced themselves. Then I was asked some of the same basic intial questions that were asked on the phone. Not a single competency or behavioural question was asked to which i spent many hours writing and rehearsing really disappointed with that as they didn't even seem interested in if i was capable of being successful in the position. And then was abruptly told that a better position for me was a finance role somewhere else in the company at another location since i was "over-educated" One interviewer in particular said that not many people have gotten a degree and repeated this around 12 or more times to which i was mindblown to how ignorant he actually was as well as being asked if i could commute to that location too as if it wasn't written right in front of them on my Cv that i attended the university literally next to it and so were so oblivious to anything remotely concerning any intrest in me. This entire travesty of an interview lasted a mere 7 minutes where one interviewer stayed silent the entire way throughout staring at a clipboard. And the rest tried to uplift me in being too smart for that paticular role, whilst encouraging me to apply at another location for a different role but was likely just a charade to let me down easy as it was certain that prior to my "interview" they already knew who they were going to hire and just needed to fill in a recruitment quota of candidates to make it seem like the recruitment process was legitimate. They didn't even allow me to ask any questions. Gave them the benefit of doubt and applied to the other role, then the follow up email was straight rejection. Additionally, they may also have rehearsed the fact that "another role would suit you better" just to not outright reject candidates. Overall just wasted my time and effort that i tried to put into doing well in this interview.
