Very straightforward and possibly the easiest of any assessment I've had (I have had around 4).
My advice is do not apply for a role if you are not personally catered to it (at least for this particular firm). My work experience along with my degree meant I was more suited for Investment Banking and they questioned why Operations, actually calling me "overqualified" for the Operations role.
The reason I had applied for Operations here was because I had applied for IB at so many firms and had numerous rejections that I thought okay I'll apply for something "easier" as a backup.
This in fact went against me and the two people that were doing Business Management as opposed to Finance (what I study) and Economics as a degree obtained the role, even though they were ill prepared. I believe RBCCM see through who applies for a role that they're simply applying for for an internship versus those who want to stay within the department, and aim to offer graduate jobs to the majority of their interns, which of course had I obtained the role I would never have accepted a job offer.
All the best

What is a derivative? Why Operations? Which part within Operations would you like to apply for (so Equity Financing Operations, Derviatives Operations etc.)? Standard competency based questions.
The first round of the interview was conducted over the phone. I spoke with an Analyst working within Operations at RBC. Questions were not too challenging, they were for the most part, behavioral. Not such analytical questions.

What's something not on your resume that makes you a good candidate?

I was contacted by HR that a specific department was looking for an intern and wanted to interview me. I was called in for an in-person interview. The interview was extremely conversational and personality-based. No technical questions, more so about coursework, interests, your resume and experiences, "why you", etc. Heard back in about a week and accepted. Paid extremely well for an operations internship.

Walk me through your resume. When is a time you've dealt with a conflict? When have you constructively worked in a group? What's your biggest weakness?
