Applied online, got an email one week later with a coding exercise attached. Solved the coding exercise and returned with correct results, however the recruiter said that it wasn't the correct results. I had manually verified the results and they were exactly as described in the instructions. No explanation was provided in the rejection email. I wonder if this was just free work they got to solve a problem, instead of an actual coding exercise.
