Applied online, just a CV and cover letter application. About a month later I got a call from a unknown number who turned out to be from the HR department, they asked me a few questions about my uni experience, what I knew about the company etc. then said they would be in touch.
A further couple of weeks later I got an email inviting me to interview. The overall experience was positive, the interviewers were very friendly and the interview itself wasn't particularly difficult. The main problem I had was a lot of the questions were based on situations you could only have come across in a customer orientated environment and as a graduate I had no experience in that area so I had to relate all my answers to my experiences from university.
The interview itself was very structured with both interviewers following a set form and filling it out as they went along. At the end of the interview I was introduced to two people on the team I would be working in if I was to get the job, they were both very friendly and answered more casual questions about the working environment, what day to day work involves etc.
The only reason I have listed the interview as a negative experience is because despite me repeatedly contacting Promar, I have heard nothing back from them in almost two months. I realise this means I have not been selected for the job but I think some feedback from the interview or at least an email informing me that I have been unsuccessful would be appropriate, especially given I travelled a considerable distance (and incurred the associated costs) to attend the interview.
