Solicité el puesto a través de la recomendación de un empleado. El proceso duró 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Progressive Insurance (Austin, TX) en may 2016
Entrevista
Applied for the position and a few hours later was asked to take the assessment. Passed the assessment and within a week was contacted to complete a phone interview. An hour later I was sent an email that a background check was going to be performed. After a week of back and forth with HireRight, the background was complete. A week goes by and I contacted Progressive to find out the status and to inform them the background has been complete for a week now. They apologized and scheduled me a face to face interview 2 weeks out. Throughout the process they asked if I was applying to any other jobs. My response was no. I also attended their open house in Austin, TX to familiarize myself with the company while all this was going on. The face to face was so unprofessional. I have a degree, previous claims experience and HR experience. One of my questions from the interviewer was "How would you feel if you did not get this position..what response would you have?" SERIOUSLY??? So you have kids..What are their ages? This is hinging on a legal ground that I would NEVER have expected from such a company. Who I call upon in face of rejection is none of their concern. How many kids I have is none of their concern. I then called the recruiter mentioned in the email (the email notifying me I would not be selected for the position). He informed me that the interviewer, who is from a different state, thought the commute was too much for me. He also mentioned that because my current position consists of being on my feet, he did not think that a desk job would be suitable. SERIOUSLY? I took a substitute position to make ends meet until I could find a job I like. I worked for the state directly across the street from Progressive so I am familiar with the commute. This was a HORRIBLE experience. Thank God I did not get selected for a company that operates in this manner. I hope D.H., the HR manager becomes aware of this experience.
