Extensive and unnecessary interview process. Multiple stages of interviewing for a basic entry level position with a salary under $30k and no benefits. It felt like I was going through an interview for being a brain surgeon. It consisted of a test, questionnaire, phone interview, Skype interview, and then an in-person interview.
The in-person interview was even worse. The owners and their main marketing manager were rude and unprofessional. You know that feeling when you are talking, but no one is listening to you and it's obvious? That's exactly what happened. They were all staring off in different directions and not engaged with my replies. I almost walked out in the middle, and this was the behavior of the two owners of the company. If things couldn't get worse the owners' children and babysitter busted into their interview room and disrupted my interview for a solid 20 minutes. I was so thrown off by this interruption that it was hard to think and focus on the rest of the interview.
Interview questions were generic and clearly asked because they have no real idea of how to interview. Basic Google interview questions like "how do you define success?" and "do you think people are inherently lazy or not?" Completely dumb. I could not get out of there fast enough. No one seemed to want to be there because it is clearly a terrible place to work.
Despite this, the interview went very well and I was actually overqualified for the job and they still didn't give me the job. I believe it is because they are looking for young fresh graduates who will be satisfied with making next to nothing just for the experience.
