"I was cold contacted out of the blue from the CreDir. He received my resume from someone internally and he wanted to speak with me regarding some freelancing opportunities. I was already very familiar with this company in what they do so I thought this would be a good fit to do some freelance work. When he called me, he sounded like he was in the middle of lunch, as I could hear him chewing on food in between his pauses of conversation, but I pressed on and ignored it. I was genuinely surprised when they talked down my initial freelance rate from $45-50/hr. to $35/hr. The reason he gave was that his long time designers make what I wanted, but I'd just be starting out there, even though I had over 15 years of experience in design. I wanted to do them a favor and agreed to the lower rate figuring it'd be a good way to get my foot in the door and build trust. He said he'd contact me before the Memorial Day weekend with my first project. I never heard back. I always heard very negative things about working for this company and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Looks like they did the job for me."
