So I got an email to do an initial phone screen with a recruiter, no email response back when I asked a question, so I just set up a time via a link. The call started almost 20 minutes late (it was only supposed to be a 30 minute meeting) and no apology or anything brought up about the time when they called. I knew this was already a bad sign, as it was apparent they did not care about my time. The recruiter proceeded to spit out questions at me that had nothing to do with the role, nor did they understand what they were asking me because when I asked them to elaborate on specific questions (because they made zero sense), they got snippy trying to "clarify" them. The most hilarious part was when I had to bring up anything about Petsmart, and what it's like, etc., since the recruiter told me nothing about working there, and I asked why they started working there, and they literally told me it's because they moved somewhere new and it was one of the only conveniently located headquarters where they could get hired...mhm. Definitely not something you should be saying to a potential candidate. They did not sell the company whatsoever, and were rude in their remarks when I would answer a question, or ask for elaboration. I've been working at a major corporate company for the last 7 years, and have done many interviews during my tenure, and not ONCE have I left a phone interview with a recruiter feeling the way I did with this one. It's a shame because I was excited for the potential, but Petsmart corporate needs to do a bit of an in depth evaluation on some of their recruiters before hiring, because you just turned off myself and any of my close colleagues from applying.
