I interviewed for the Staff Data Analyst role at Personio, and the experience was quite frustrating. Despite Personio's public emphasis on the importance of people for business success, their hiring process seemed narrowly focused ONLY on specific skills like marketing or sales. For them, all other tech skills and characteristics really do not matter much. They assigned us an intensive homework task, but ultimately rejected my application without providing detailed feedback. It became apparent that they prioritize candidates with specific marketing and sales knowledge over qualities like persistence, resilience, intelligence, impactful contributions, customer-driven approaches, and strong analytics skills.
Additionally, they really needs people who could probably handle their problematic senior stakeholder management, as you can also read those low reviews on Glassdoor, which highlight gaps in this area within the company.
Overall, I would say the interviews are easy yet intense. And they probably won't care about each individual as they advertised, and their senior management might be challenging as well.
Their homework assignment is heavily focused on sales and marketing. If you lack knowledge in these areas, you will likely fail the assignment, even if your analytical skills are exceptional. Additionally, they do not provide explanations for the dataset or the related terminologies.
