Applied online at the end of February 2024 and was contacted for an interview within a week as I already had quite a bit of experience in permitting. I had an initial interview with a recruiter and everything went great. The recruiter advised I would be sent a project to complete which would take 1-2 hours. Like other applicants, I was sent a request to complete an easy to follow summary of how to get an ADU project permitted in San Francisco. Completion of this project took several hours, not the 1-2 hours the recruiter advised. The information for this project was submitted back within the deadline that I was given for submittal. Received an email from the recruiter that they have decided not to move forward with my application and competition for jobs with the company is strong. Very disappointing to spend so much time on a project and then get a rejection letter. I won't make the mistake of spending a lot of time on a project request from a company again with the hopes of obtaining a position.

The interview process actually differs from what the application lists, as they actually had an additional 4th interview at the end with the Chief of Staff. Overall, they were very communicative with me, which I appreciated. As others have mentioned, after the first initial interview you are asked to create a guide for applying for an ADU in San Francisco. It is a rather tedious and in-depth task due to the jurisdiction, but I was up for the challenge. All of my interviews seemed to go exceptionally well, until the last interview with the Chief of Staff when asked to rank my top 5 priorities: Culture, Title, Pay, Work/Life balance, and Mental stimulation. I was honest in my response, and I feel that is where I was immediately crossed off the list for consideration despite my extensive experience in the realm of building permit operations/project management. I applied in November, and my final interview was in early January. It definitely felt like an offer was on the horizon based on all interviews except the last one.
