Received an email from an HR person about a week after applying. I was contacted by this person and they started off by going over some basic HR-related questions and explained a little bit about the role. I was then sent an online 25 question test that asked about various questions about some general tech related questions. These included web development questions (HTTP response codes, API questions, etc.), general programming questions concepts (OO principles, javascript-specific questions, etc.), and some "what does this function output with these given parameters" questions. Overall, I found these questions to be easy enough (make sure to study up on web development stuff if you are unfamiliar with). A day after submitting the test, I was contacted by the same HR recruiter and was prompted to set a time and date for the first interview. This interview had a live coding portion at the beginning. The first question was a very basic coding question. There was a second follow-up question that was more advanced. I was able to solve the first one in time, but not the second. After the coding portion, the interviewer and I had a discussion about the job and what the role would be doing and I was able to ask some questions about Paycom. From start to finish, this interview only lasted about 35 minutes. About two days after this interview, the HR recruiter contacted me again to let me know that I would be proceeding to the next interview. A date and time was scheduled promptly within the same week. The next - and final - interview was with a director-level employee. This interview was pretty casual; I was asked some general coding questions, some behavioral questions ("name a time when you had a conflict and how you resolved it"), and questions about my proficiency in various programming languages/stacks. I was then allowed to field questions to the interviewer and got some insight into Paycom and its development process and culture. This interview lasted about 30 minutes total. A day after this interivew, I was contacted by the same HR person to let me know that I had passed the interview and a job offer was extended. They told me the compensation as well as how the onboarding process would be carried out. This part was done only via phone and I was never emailed a formal offer letter. Overall, the interview process from first contact to offer only took about 8 days.
