They have you take a short written test, then ask you some questions in person. They see how you react to a scenario....basically one of them starts yelling at you about how their friend is dead in a car and you have to keep the peace. It's....weird. However it's incredibly easy. They're just looking for someone with a pulse and an EMT cert. If you have those, congratulations you're hired.

Fairly straightforward. Offered job on the spot. If you are interested in EMS, I strongly advise not going into private EMS. It is atrocious. If you are looking for some action and real calls, get on a fire dept. If you are okay with mostly discharges and simply driving people home (i.e., being a glorified taxi driver), then apply here. Used to be mostly 911, but things have changed drastically.

Completed an online application then had interview about a week later. If you get hired, you have to do a physical test and a drug test. Once that clears you are officially hired. You have a week training on policies and procedures before you actually hit the streets.
