Followed by another final round with the head of the department.
Eventually received an offer but by that time already took another position. This was 4 years ago.

PLOS's recruiter was incredibly friendly and walked me through the hiring process. Phone screen involved reviewing general experience and the on-site the following week was thoughtfully structured and involved meeting several interdisciplinary team members in 1:1's.
