Phonecall with the talent acquisition followed by two rounds of interviews over Teams. Called me to say I was being offered the role and they would contact me again to finalize details.
I heard nothing for four working days and finally received an email from somebody I had never interacted with saying the role was no longer available. I tried contacting the talent acquisition rep but got an out of office reply and answering machine.
Managed to get through to somebody who finally told me the role was 'put on hold'. They never followed up with me.
In summary, the experience was awful. Not a complete waste of time as the two interviews were good for sharpening interview skills and the guys interviewing me were all nice and professional.
Luckily I am in a secure position and eventually accepted another offer in an organisation much better suited to my needs. Ironic that a healthcare provider would treat applicants in this way. Were I out of work and had this experience it would have a serious impact on my morale.
