      Candidato de entrevista anónimo
      Ámsterdam
      Sin oferta
      Experiencia neutra
      Entrevista normal

      Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Optiver (Ámsterdam)

      Entrevista

it was good, they give a test and they ask questions from those on a later interview as well. Problem is the recruiter from optiver itself informs u earlier that you dont need to check anything on the exam they gave for the next rounds which puts u away and then get suprised during one of the interviews if you get selected for next rounds. so make sure u study ur answers and reasoning for the answers u gave on the exam.

      Solicitud

Solicité el puesto a través de una agencia de empleo. Acudí a una entrevista en Optiver (Ámsterdam) en jun 2023

      Entrevista

There are multiple stages in the process. The first one is an HR interview with standard behavioral/motivational questions, make sure to do your research about the company and industry in general and ask questions. The second stage is Hackerrank test (a couple network tech/design questions + Python questions). The third stage is a tech interview with one or two members of NE team, the big part of the interview was based on Hackerrank questions, especially on the failed ones. The fourth stage is System Design, you are asked to design a simple trading application, here you need to know in general how trading systems work + apply common logic. Make sure to ask questions and do not make assumption. The final stage is an on-site series of interviews, including a presentation of one of your previous projects + talk with CTO.

1 - Talk to the HR - Behavioral process: 2 - Hackerrank Test 3 - Technical Interview 4 - Design Interview 5 - Unknown for me They want a person that are willing to work on optiver more than anything.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

Behavioral: I want to leave? What's market making? Why Optiver? Why Amsterdam? HackerRank: Difference betwen store&forward and cut through BGP Route redistribution using prefix-list Best route selection Multicast PIM-Sparse Mode Routing Design Routing Convergence Basic of Trading Strategy Python - Extracting values from a log file Python - finding UNIQUE names in a file Python - Searching for dependencies, focused on dictionary and a process depending on another thing to be started. About the Interview 3 : 1. Maybe say something not on your CV is interesting for us to know about you. 2. I don't know if we came and solicited your interest or some recruitment firm was it? What was the decision that you made to actually apply for Optiva? Why was it? 3. What about Optiver excites you? 4. As a network engineer, what would be your ideal day? 5. You're looking for some end-to-end design implementation role. Is that fair? 5.1 From hackerrank, We have a Cisco router that is learning the exact same prefix from three different sources. Can you explain a little bit more what the process is that the Cisco router considers as it receives this same prefix, the process into which it eventually then installs the route into its routing table? 5.2 On this Cisco router in this example, do you know how many routing processes would be running on it? 5.3 Do you know what happens in that situation or what's the relevance of having these two routing processes? Especially in terms of learning this route that we mentioned in the example. 5.4 Are you aware of the BGP best path selection process? 6. We had a routing design for you next. Can you talk me through these choices and explain why you went for them and how they achieve the requirements we have? 6.1 We've got a point to point links between them. Does that change your choice of what we're going to do? 6.2 What route and protocol would you choose based on this information that we've given you? 6.3 How would you do that then? Explain it to me. 6.4 What do we need MPLS for? 6.5 What are the disadvantages of BGP? 6.6 Why would you not consider OSPF, for example? What's wrong with OSPF in this scenario with, let's say, five data centers interconnected to each other on hub and force folks? 7. Can you explain to us in this situation what multicast is and specifically PIMs sparse mode? 8. The question is, how long does it take this switch to forward a frame from the first bit ingress to the first bit egress? 9. We're going to trade the same stock in both exchanges, one in Chicago, one in Frankfurt. What should we tell our auto traders to do to make money from this pattern?
