I had a pre-screen phone interview with the talent consultant and a virtual meeting with the hiring manager. Everyone was friendly and I felt positive about my interview. Several months later I never heard anything back. In addition, I never received responses to my follow-up emails. This hiring team should understand that people's livelihoods may be at risk, and stringing hopeful applicants on for months is unethical. If you don't feel someone is a good fit, a generic "You are no longer under consideration for this role" email is all it takes. Do better.
