      Solicitud

Envié una solicitud electrónica. El proceso duró 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Open Society Foundations (New York, NY) en dic 2017

      Entrevista

I applied through the website, heard back within a month, had a good phone-screening interview, an interview with two senior staff in the department, then did a written test and a final round interview with two more senior staff. Everyone was very engaged and communicative, and the process felt very well-run. I didn't get the position but they were very interested in my candidacy and I felt more inclined, after the process, to apply for new positions with the organization as they come up.

      Entrevista

I am compelled to warn future applicants to not bother with this organization. With great enthusiasm, I participated in six rounds of interviews (in addition to a writing test). Following a sudden silence, I repeatedly tried to get some insight. After some hounding, the HR contact informed me they had extended an offer to the other finalist. I took her feedback at face value, but just about a month later, the job was reposted. To this day, years later, the job remains unfilled. Over my 20-year career and I've never have had such a disrespectful experience. I see here on Glassdoor several nearly identical experiences. I suggest that OSF/the Communications department read and heed their mission statement. Certainly treating others with respect is one of their core values, is it not? Also: given that they are repeat offenders, I cannot help but think: are they really in good faith seeking a professional or are they mining for ideas on how to do their jobs? Note: I've also interviewed with a number of corporations and was always treated with respect and dignity at all stages of the process. This is an NGO that needs to walk the talk.

Applied for the position online. Was contacted by email one month after I submitted my application asking for an initial phone interview with a recruitment associate. I was then contacted again for another video interview with a committee, followed by a written test a few weeks later. Very pleasant staff and overall experience but quite a lengthy process.
