Applied online through Careerbuilder.com, January 2014. Received 1st emails to set up a time to talk. Took several emails, because he was on the road and very busy. Once we connected by phone, I interviewed over the phone, even though I am right down the road and could have easily come in, which I thought was odd. Interview went very well and he recommended me to speak to another person in the facility to talk with, and would get back to me via email again (which I immediately thought, oh great email tag again). Several emails went back and forth over the next few weeks followed, as he was always busy, even though I offered to speak or come in to see him at his convenience. The phone interview seem rushed on his part, and he mentioned several times that I was overqualified and he did not think they could afford me. I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, a A.S. in Engineering, almost another degree in Electronics Technology, and had began some course work to a Masters in Business Management. And I noted I was very familiar with doing the drafting and quotations he described, and very adept at working with people inside/outside and customers. It was something I was very very capable of doing, but he kept mentioning that I was over-qualified and that they could not afford me, even though no mention of mention of any dollar amount of salary was even approached.
