A very long and drawn out back and forth with a recruiter which took weeks and involved a telephone interview, a Skype interview and a competency test which were unnecessary for what is essential a customer service role in a call centre. Finally a month after submitting my initial application for a 'Customer Success Executive', I was invited for the first round interview with the company themselves. I was told that I had to refer to the role as 'Energy Specialist', weeks after my application. The interview itself went well, however I was not put forward for the next round of interviews. The recruiter in question was helpful in that they offered me feedback. Apparently the interviewer was put off when I asked about opportunities for progression in the role, I personally thought that was a pretty standard question to ask, but apparently the final straw for the interviewer was when she noticed I had brought a notebook and pen with me. I always bring a notebook with me so that I can take notes throughout the interview and can refer back to them in my own time when considering the position myself. This has never been an issue before and I've worked for some very well established transnational corporations. Overall very time consuming.
