      Not the most professional call I've ever had. I was told way too much about the interviewer's personal life as a "unique way to connect with candidates" but it was a bit off-putting. Not many candidates would prefer to personally get to know interviewers personally when they're not yet an employee of the company. Once they got on with it, it was explained to me that I would complete a research assignment and that upon passing it, I'd move on to the final steps. Beware that the research assignment is extremely lengthly and will take you hours, if not days, depending on how much time you have to dedicate on top of your current job. Despite passing the assignment, I did not move forward because they didn't want to negotiate on salary. This should have been made clear from the beginning, and not before they put candidates through a lengthy assessment that, even when they pass it, still won't move forward due to a reason that was already discussed and clarified in the first phone screen.

      Thank you for your feedback. As recruiters, it's important to connect and engage with people to help us understand their communication style and how they would potentially relate to a role or team. Making a personal connection and sharing information is a key piece in that process. Pay is communicated as a potential range based on experience and competency. As part of our vetting process, to help support the candidate's pay expectations, we do ask that all Sourcing candidates complete an assignment, which is explained during the initial screening process. The completion of the research assignment is a different experience for everyone and many candidates really enjoy the process. In terms of how long it takes, that varies based on the individual, but we find that it takes most people about 2 hours. We are sorry that you had a less than ideal experience and wish you all the best in your job search.
