Applied for position I was highly qualified for through a careers website a couple days after it was first posted. Recruiter happened to be out of the office the day I submitted, so I received an OOA response with her contact info. Left several voicemails for her over 2 weeks and got no response. Increased call frequency and paired with emails starting the next week, and finally got a response after a week. Setup phone screen, passed through her screening criteria, she couldn't answer any of my basic questions about the role, and said she'd submit me for the role and to expect to hear back from her within 3 days. After no response for a week I looked up client's hiring manager through LinkedIn and contacted them directly. Hiring manager replied that he had just written an offer to another candidate, and that he would have wanted to speak with me first. The recruiter's lack of both interest and professionalism cost us both an opportunity, and I will not be working with this company again in the future.
