Application: RIT Job portal Step 1: Phone call screening. Got a call from the VP of Engineering. Had an informal conversation about my background and studies. Told me about the position and the company in general. Scheduled an on-site interview for the following week. Step 2: Was interviewed by the VP of Engineering and Director of Sales. Made me very comfortable, I did not feel like as a job applicant I was in the hot seat. Spoke in detail and in length about my background as a mechanical engineer, my undergrad as well as grad studies and extracurricular experiences. Then they told me about the company, their journey over the 10 years they've existed and where they're headed. Also what my position would be and what responsibilities I would have. In the process they assessed my skills and experiences related to the required position by letting me contribute to the conversation. About halfway through all of this, I felt the interview turned into a sort of orientation as I believe they had already made their decision. After the sit-down interview, the VP gave me an introductory tour of the company building and introduced me to the people working there. After the whole process I was informed right there that they would like to have me on-board and would await my decision.
