I applied for a TA role at Neustark in February. Three weeks later, I got an unannounced call from a senior recruiter person. Without prior notice or context, he asked me on the spot to explain what Neustark does. Being an active applicant for multiple roles, I couldn’t recall specifics and told him so.
I provided my availability for another call via email as requested, but weeks went by without any follow-up. When he finally called back, he criticized me for not remembering the company details during the initial call and told me that this is the reason why he did not answer to me. This is incredibly unprofessional and unrealistic, especially from a senior recruiter. It’s unacceptable to expect candidates to remember every detail about such a small and young company.
It’s concerning that a senior recruiter would not consider the context of unexpected calls and the natural challenge of remembering specifics about a company three weeks after applying. This experience has left a negative impression of Neustark’s recruitment process and their professional standards.
