A painfully slow interview process. I don't think HR values the time of the candidate. The first call I got from HR was around 15 minutes late. No apology, but ok. The call was just experience-based. The HR woman seemed a bit frazzled, like she really didn't have time for the interview. I talked to an engineer next. He sounded very pretentious over the phone, and really didn't value any of the experience I brought to the table. This just felt like a typical startup attitude.
From what I learned, the development of products has no legitimate process at Navdy. They rely heavily on outside consultants and contract suppliers to get stuff done that other places would handle in-house. Oh, and they wanted 35% travel. Navdy: Do yourself a favor and hire some personnel to be on the ground at your suppliers. You will never find a talented ME willing to spend 35% of his/her time overseas. You will get people who don't have a life, and they'll live a sad existence commuting back and forth from China. Sorry, but that's the truth. Ultimately, I'm glad they did not pursue me further, because I would never have accepted an offer.
I strongly recommend people stay away from this position at Navdy!
