A staffing agency (bridge “something”) approached me and sent me the job description for an AWS Solutions Architect at Nassau Re. I didn’t hear from them back for a month. Then, they called me again and mentioned that Nassau Re interviewed a candidate but they discovered he wasn’t a “true architect” after one round of telephonic interview and after inviting him onsite. The staffing agency representative told me the hiring manager (Associate VP) is very interested in my resume. I had a 30 minutes interview with the AVP and the director and they seemed very happy. They shortly invited me to an onsite interview and I traveled to Hartford. I had a one hour interview with the CTO, AVP and the director and it was a very easy technical interview. After two days, I got a call from the staffing agency and (he) told me that they liked my technical strength and personality but they decided to move forward because they didn’t like my attire!!! Yes, that’s right. I wore business casual but they expected me to wear business formal according to the staffing agency. Lame corporate.
