The interview process was extremely long and very poorly timed. 5 weeks in total. Each week i had to go through the same interview with a different person. At no point, any of the interviewers asked about my portfolio or skills. The main focus was always my leadership skills which they all seemed very happy with. After the 3rd positive interview they asked for references and set up a 4th and a 5th final interview in the coming weeks. I provided references (I had to inform my current employer that i was applying for other jobs, which put me in a vulnerable position with them). The 4th interview took place and again it seemed positive. But for the first time i sensed that the interviewer was worried about me not liking the job i was applying for. The same day i got the rejection via email, with a one line of feedback “your portfolio doesn’t match what we’re looking for” and a cancellation of the 5th interview. Surely they could have realised that before they even offered the first interview. And surely they could have waited to the very last interview before asking me to provide references. Very disappointing. But glad i didn’t get the job. The level of unprofessionalism was unacceptable
