I applied to the position online and received an e-mail from the recruiter 3 days later. We set up a 15 min call to discuss my background, interest, and the role.
Shortly after, I was invited to on-site in San Jose, CA for a 45 min interview with the hiring manager. The conversation centered on my work history, projects, and general fit questions.
I was invited on-site again for a second and final round of interviews. I met with 5 people for 30 min each, which included the hiring manager, VP of Corp Dev, VP of Data Science, VP of Product, and Sr. Director of Autonomous Vehicles. The conversations followed the same pattern discussing work/project history, interest in the company and industry, and general Q&A on a range of industry and product related topics.
As for the hiring manager interview- I was asked to bring work samples (excel model and PPT presentation) that showcased my work. I also had to develop viewpoints on two topics related to autonomous vehicles and digital assistants.
The process was lightning fast, the conversations were very interesting, and the interviewers were sharp and highly engaged.
I received an informal offer a few days later and was asked to provide 3 manager/supervisor references. Once that was cleared, I received the formal offer.
