MongoDB leadership sold and explained to me initially which was appreciated. Once I realised what I was entering, then it was my time to work. This was a long and very challenging interview process but I wouldn't have joined if it were any different. Did it require working many additional hours whilst still in my current role - yes. Did I need to speak with many ex Mongo and existing Mongo employees - yes. Did I need to put in significant work to understand our value prop in detail - yes. To be clear, I wasn't looking when MongoDB approached me about this role. This process was very challenging but rewarding at the same time. Because you work so hard during the interview process, you can have certainty about what you're entering into once you start, it's worth it!
