I attended a daytime interview and met with the lab supervisor who had a series of specific questions to go over; this seemed like a company requirement. I was notified at the end of the interview that there would be a second interview if I passed the first round of screening. At the second interview, I met with the department manager and had a brief round of questions before seeing a tour of the lab, meeting the current research specialists, and seeing the other working environments within the department. I found out after I was hired, that all the lab specialists were given access to my references / CV, even when they were supposed to be the same level as me; the manager left me with the lab specialists so they could "answer questions" I had for at least 20 minutes. During this time, they essentially told me I shouldn't take the job because it was a terrible position. It was the only job I was offered because I had recently moved from out of state -- I cried when they only offered me $13/hr for my B.S. and 3 years of research experience...the job only required a high school diploma. Moffitt does 'adjustments' periodically to keep their salaries competitive; within 3 months, I was bumped to a better wage at $15/hr. Be cautious! A lot of positions are very underpaid at Moffitt -- supposedly, the idea is that they are trying to hire individuals who "aren't in it for the money", and per my previous manager, the only way to get a raise is to actually be promoted, which can take a year or two. Moffitt doesn't do raises otherwise (annual merit increases are a joke, <2% at best).

Process took 4 weeks. I interviewed with HR, the hiring manager & the team all in 1 day. I was then moved to the next phase & interviewed with one of the doctors, 3 weeks after the initial interviews. All the interviews were fine. I was then emailed by HR a week later to say I lost out on the position to an internal candidate.
