I had two interviews for the Patient Care Technician position, and my experience was mixed, but ultimately, the second interview left a negative impression. The first interview was with an HR representative who was working remotely. She was very sweet and professional, and the interview felt like a typical phone screening. She asked about my experience, what I was looking for in my next role, and other common questions. It was a positive and straightforward interaction, and I felt like she was genuinely interested in getting to know me. However, the second interview at the Fairfield office was a completely different experience. There were two directors or managers conducting the interview, and from the start, they came across as judgmental, cliquey, and unprofessional. One of the interviewers actually started texting during the interview while I was asking questions, which threw me off and made me feel disrespected. This was a huge red flag for me, as it indicated a lack of professionalism. The interview consisted of typical questions like “Tell me about yourself,” “What skills do you bring to the company?” and “Do you work better in a team or alone?” I answered these questions confidently, but when it was my turn to ask questions, the interviewers seemed unprepared and flustered. When I asked about the company’s approach to work-life balance, one of the interviewers couldn’t give a clear answer, only mentioning yearly reviews and potential incentives, which didn’t address my concerns at all. Additionally, I learned that the role would require traveling to all three clinic locations, which seems to contradict the idea of a healthy work-life balance. After the interview, I was ghosted and never received any follow-up communication, which was disappointing and unprofessional. Overall, the interview experience left me with a negative impression of the company. The lack of professionalism, disengagement from the interviewers, and vague answers to my questions made me question whether this is a company I would want to work for.
