Applied online via Microcenter's website in 2022, was offered an interview via email and scheduled it. The interviewer later called me and rescheduled it to a few days later. The day of the interview they rescheduled AGAIN, this time to an hour earlier than what was planned. They did this by calling me almost 10 minutes before they wanted me on site, Thankfully, I was already prepared because I had no other interviews that day.) I asked why they were hiring, and the interviewer replied that he had laid a few sales people off due to punctuality issues. I can't tell if that rescheduling was deliberate to test me, or just total lack of self awareness. Overall the work culture didn't seem terrible on first impression. I mingled with a lot of employees to ask how they felt about working there. The consensus was that they liked it and the pay after sales commission was competitive for the area at the time. I advise everyone check the minimum wage laws in their area, prior to accepting an offer here. At the time, Microcenter had a policy of paying as low as $2 an hour with sales commission; but on the stipulation that they'd honor local min wage laws, and give you more money if the sales commission didn't bring you in line with it. So depending on the store's traffic and the min wage in your city, that can either be terrible or pretty competitive like the employees said. They did a weird multiple choice "ethics test" at the end, that was outsourced to another company. I'm not sure what their expectations were for that, but I'm fairly certain it's what weeded me out.
