Application through a university website. I was contacted within two weeks and had an interview set up. I spoke with two managers separately for half an hour interviews and was notified at the end that I had received the job. It was a surprisingly laid-back experience which kind of set the tone for the remainder of my employment.

Two rounds of interview. First phone interview was about resume, projects.
Second round interview was a series of technical questions.
The whole process took about 3 weeks. And the interviewer also explained about the projects at Merit.

Basic Networking concepts - TCP,UDP, DNS, congestion control.
When and why will you use a hash table over a list? Some simple algorithmic problems.
Some questions were:
Implement a hash table in C
You have limited memory 4MB - and you have 32000 numbers. Find the repeated number (solution is using bitvector).
The interviewer asked me some behavioural questions toward the end. Like what are your strengths, technical skillsets, managing teams, deadlines etc.
