I had a 30 min phone call with my potential advisor (I guess depends on the department). Mostly talking about research and introduce you to the internship. Got the offer within a week.
One interview with hiring manager and then a panel interview. I felt like the process was very transparent and appreciated that it was only two rounds. However, I was only interviewing for a summer internship.
