Relaxed and clear, showed true interest in the candidate, good process but dealership and Mercedes seemed a bit distant (They were not aware of all steps required like online assessments by Mercedes)

I am deeply disheartened by the way I was handled as a potential employee candidate for Parts Advisor at Mercedes-Benz of Winnipeg.
I received a pre-interview phone call from HR mid-October and was asked what my salary expectations were. I exclaimed that I would not take anything less than $85,000 per annum as I am an inter-provincial Red Seal Endorsed Part Technician with 12 years of experience.
They proceeded to interview me 3 times over a 5 week period which I seemed to get asked basically the same questions in each interview. A week after the final interview I received an offer for $65,000. This is completely unacceptable as I had stated 6 weeks earlier that I wouldn't take less than $85,000.
After I received the lowball offer, I called to try to get an explanation and I was told he had to talk to the GM about it because its out of his hands. I never received a call back and was ghosted on all my email and voicemails from that point on until they finally sent me an email rescinding their offer as my remuneration didn't align.
The initial pre-interview phone call should have been the end of it and not waste my precious time and money to go down there every 10 days for meetings when I could have been using that time to apply and interview at other places of business.
The first time I went into the dealership, there was a gentleman waiting at parts and we had got to talking and he exclaimed that no one ever answers the phone whenever he calls or ever returns his voicemail and email messages in parts(what a shame). I was also told in the second interview that the parts department is seriously lacking productivity and leadership. Well, when you have a Red Seal Autobody Technician as the Parts Manager, maybe that's part of the issue.
You get what you pay for.
