I applied for the nurse residency program online. The recruiter at my first choice facility contacted me 2 weeks after the application period closed. I had to fill out a Behavioral Assessment and answer the Nurse Residency Questionnaire. I was contacted again 2 weeks later to do a phone interview with the recruiter, which lasted about 10 minutes. I was asked why I wanted to work for MH, why that specific location, why the specific unit, and what are my goals. I was also given information about the program and when I will be contacted if they will select me to be interviewed in person. About a week later, the recruiter called me and we set an appointment for an in-person interview. She sent me the information about who will interview me and a sample of the residency contract through my email as well. The face-to-face interview was a panel, consisting of the Director, Manager, and Nurse Educator. It was a very positive environment; they were very friendly. They asked mostly behavioral questions. My interview lasted about 20 minutes. Two days after the panel interview, the recruiter sent the email whether I was chosen/not.
