Filled out a form detailing experience and references, and then had a phone interview with an HR recruiter. At the end of the interview, got a link to a programming test with problems to solve and teaching an introduction to their proprietary language.

What kind of responsibilities did I expect the role to have?
What about my background suited the job?

For the first stage, the recruiter chats with you about your resume and asks you a few basic questions before giving you a challenge. You're given three hours to learn the basics of their proprietary language and then are asked to code the Fibonacci sequence and a basic sorting algorithm.
If you do well enough, they invite you to interview as a software developer.
They also brought me in to interview as a program analyst without being explicit that was what I was coming in for. The recruiter just scheduled an interview time. At the end of the interview, they gave me a sheet and asked me to summarize what the role of the program analyst was in a paragraph. It was a really bizarre exercise since they talked at length about the role during the interview.
If you're interviewing, expect to go over your resume, transcript, and the same questions at different stages of the process. I personally found it strange that they covered the transcript in such detail and would ask questions about my study abroad.
The pay range is low 45k-55k for all employees and the benefits aren't generous (they only cover 85% of insurance). Since they code in a proprietary language, it's going to be challenging to transition to another career or to be integrated into the developer community.

Coding challenge - Fibonacci sequence, a sorting algorithm of your choice
Developer - Three brainteasers: three lightbulbs in a row, minimum number of weighings to find the heaviest of 9 objects on a balancing scale, and the bridge and torch problem. They also give you a choice of coding problem to think through, which is how to update telephone numbers in a basic data structure.
