I was sent here through a resource firm whose ad I applied to. After an initial phone call with the CTO, who asked pretty basic questions regarding my background, they paid to have me fly to NY. I was supposed to meet the CTO but he was out sick. The people were nice and friendly for the most part. They asked me situational questions regarding my role. There were questions related to my background as well. The curious thing was they asked me no technical questions at all related to my ability to critically think and design good code. When I had come in, I was told I would be getting lunch but after 2 hours of mundane and basic questions in a non air conditioned room that was sweltering, I was told that was it and they would be in touch. I had another offer on hand so requested if they could let me know how it went quickly. Before my Uber ride was even here, I was told by my contact at the staffing agency that they had said no because I had no front end automation experience (I have a decade of experience in it). Funny thing is, like I said before, they hardly asked me anything technical related to that or gave me the ability to show my moves in that area. I am a professional and this was a very "amateur hour" interview which left me feeling mildly humiliated.
