Entrevista
I have held many retail jobs, and prior to Macy's, had always been offered a position after interviewing. I understand now that it was a bad fit, even though I'm friendly, approachable, and experienced in customer service.
Macy's is looking for a certain image, and it's important to project that during your interview. The questions were tough and often came with follow-ups, so be prepared to defend why you'd fit in with your desired department. My interviewer was direct but also unclear: she was mostly straight to the point, but some questions didn't actually make sense.

Would you rather a situation had an expected outcome or an unexpected outcome?
What is your desired department and why? Are there any departments that would be a poor fit? What would you do if you were assigned to one of those departments?
Was interviewed for a seasonal position. Was told they have no seasonal positions, once they found out I was a college student. Made no sense to me quickly ended the interview.

The interview process was straightforward and fairly quick. It started with a phone interview from a recruiter or hiring representative who asked general questions about my background, availability, and interest in the role. The tone was professional but conversational, and the interviewer focused on making sure I could handle a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
I had one interview with the store manager and it lasted for about 45 minutes. The interview was all standard behavioral questions. I was offered the job on the spot.
