My overall experience with the interview process was above average and they moved through each step quickly. I was happy to accept an offer with MAA.
It started with a phone interview. Veronica, the talent specialist, was the person conducting the interview and set the positive tone for what would be an excellent interview. She was energetic and asked questions related to the role.
My second interview was with Liz, the property manager. I felt a real connection with Liz during this in-person interview. I could tell she truly cares about her team and the goals she wants to achieve with them. She provided tons of information, so I knew exactly what to expect and what they were expecting from me.
My final interview was in-person with Lynn, the VP. She made me feel very comfortable and conducted a very structured interview. I could tell she was looking for candidates that have exceptional customer service skills and someone who will make a big impact on the experience one will have when they visit an MAA property.

Tell me about a time you had a difficult customer and how do you handle it?
Was scheduled for a call and they told me twenty minutes after the call was scheduled that they’re no longer hiring and then saw the position posted again the week after this
The interview process consists of one phone interview and at least one in person interview. The phone interview consisted of three simple questions. The in person interview lasted almost an hour, and you will be asked three pages worth of questions. Fair warning though, while the job description states that some Saturdays are required, and my phone interviewer said some Saturdays, they actually want you to work every single Saturday. And only have off every other Monday. But they won’t tell you that until you’ve gotten to the very last interview. They also want you to be able to work at multiple locations, some even an hour away from where you were interviewing for. They also failed to mention that until the final interview.

Very straight forward. Its usually phone interview then property manager . Afterwards its with regional manager. Property manager interview was in the actual property. But with regional it was by phone. Its pretty much the same for everyone else.
