I worked at Lush for 2 and a half years. There was a hiring evening in which anyone who had the availability they were looking for was allowed to turn up. The evening consisted of pairing up with another person and walking around the store in larger groups learning about the different areas in the store and the different products were and how to use them. For the last bit of the evening we were asked to pick a product that would be good for our partner, like we would for a customer. They looked at my cv a bit but weren't really concerned with experience they were more interested in seeing how we interacted with others in the evening and the reasoning behind the product that we chose. If you are successful they will offer you to come in for a trial shift. The trial shift they will explain how the shop runs, like the sinks and how you are allowed to demonstrate products to people. They will let you out on the shop floor to see how you interact with customers and how much you show them products. At some point they might give you some feedback in private to encourage you and then at the end of the trial they might let you know if you have the job or not or they might get in contact with you at a later date. Just be yourself and seem personable and willing to chat to people.
