Applied online through Lush Careers, had to submit a CV and a cover letter. Got a reply after the application deadline saying that they had enjoyed reading my cover letter and wanted me to fill in an online availability form. A day after that I got an invite for a recruitment evening in the store. There was no dress code for the evening and we were not told to bring anything. When I got there, there was about 40 people altogether and we were divided into 4 groups. Everyone was friendly and was a really enjoyable experience. There were four stations, each one to showcase a different skill they were looking for. The first station I went to was where I paired up with someone else and had to demo a massage bar on my partners arm. We were shown first what to do and that we needed to find out 3 facts about our partner - the person doing the massaging had to lead the conversation. We were given 5 mins each to do the demo and ask questions, after that we stood in a circle and introduced our partner to the rest of group. At the second station we were shown the 2 different types of bath bomb demos. We then split off into smaller groups and got to choose which type of demo we wanted to do and also which bath bomb we wanted to demo. We had some extra time so was a perfect opportunity to take turns again to say some more about ourselves in a circle. 3rd station was were we paired up again and pretended we were looking for a gift for someone we knew and had to ask open questions to try find the perfect gift. Last activity was going on the shop floor and taking turns pretending to be staff or customer, basically a great opportunity to demo some products and make yourself shine. With the recruitment evening its great to be as relaxed as possible and just be yourself, and have loads of fun. The next day I got an invite for the trial shift. Was told to bring a passport and wear black and white clothes with closed toe shoes. Trial shift was 1.5 hours long and there was 2 of us there for the trial shift. We were given a quick tour of the shop floor and told a few key products they wanted us to mention. They are not expecting you to know everything I just read up a bit more on my favourite lush products as it gave me a few options on things to talk about. Half way through got some feedback on what was going well and what to work on and then was sent out again to build on what I was doing before. Few days later got an email offering me the job. Overall one of my favourite interviews, everyone was so supportive and lovely, most of the time didn't even feel like an interview because it was so fun!
