It was an application for a supervisor and I received an email after sending off my cover letter and CV inviting me to an interview.
The interview itself was in three parts: a presentation followed by a trial shift and then a short interview.
The presentation involved reading their anonymous customer review and saying how they would improve it. This was fine.
On the shop floor the store itself was very quiet. The manager split the two of us up into a leader and a motivator each with a different role which was not clearly explained.
We were told midway through we would be given feedback on how we had worked so far and enable us to improve for the second half. I am aware that Lush is very feedback culture so this made sense. However I did not see the manager for the majority of the trial shift nor did they give me any feedback during.
I actively gave feedback to the sales assistants during the time and tried to motivate them with games. Including training of the products and how to make more profit and tailored sales.
The final part was a short interview but at this point the absence of the manager throughout had already given the impression that they had made up their mind about who they wanted for the role.
I was told I would hear back the following Monday and did not hear anything so assumed I have not gotten the position. No detailed feedback was provided either so I have little idea what went wrong.

Staff wasn’t friendly or welcoming, had me serve guests on the shop floor for half an hour without being shown where anything else or told what to do. Manager leading the interview acted like they couldn’t be bothered to interact

Decent questions, all related and no weird or unexpected ones. The whole process took about 45 min to an hour. Both manager and a 2IC were there during my interview.
