      Entrevista

      I recently went through the interview process at LunchBox, and I can't say enough about how fantastic it was. From the moment I connected with their recruiter to the final interview, I was blown away by the professionalism and warmth of the people at LunchBox. The interview process was incredibly well-structured and organized. Their recruiter was prompt, clear, and kept me informed every step of the way. She explained each stage clearly, set expectations, and provided helpful feedback. Despite the rigor, I never felt overwhelmed. Instead, I felt supported and motivated to do my best. What really made the experience stand out was the people. There were 4-5 rounds of interviews with different team members which included a presentation. I actually really enjoyed the presentation and felt it gave great insight into the company and the role. All of the people I interviewed with were genuinely passionate about the company and made the discussions enjoyable.

      Entrevista

      Interview with the head of talent, then my potential direct report (manager), and finally the COO (executive team). All were 30-minute Google Meet virtual interviews and fairly informal. All three interviewers' expectations for the role were different and unaligned. The interview with the COO was the most difficult and he seemed to want to try and scare me away from the role. He didn't seem to speak too highly of the company or the current team.

      The interview process was very long, and made me feel very undervalued and strung along: 1. First Interview with a CSM 2. Panel (cross function team member and hiring manager) 3. Director and another person they brought as a surprise/last minute 4. Recruiter interview 5. Additional team member (Not sure who it was because I was rejected after the 4th) There were way too many interviews for this position. A decision could have been easily made after my 3rd interview with Director and the other person that brought in last minute. By that time, I had met with a colleague, cross departmentally, with the hiring manager and the director. Initially they had a 4th interview scheduled with the CFO--- (WHY?!) but later cancelled mentioning they are changing the process for this role, and rescheduled with the recruiter. It was very confusing to have a "screening like interview" with recruiters as my 4th interview. Also, it was very discouraging, and as a candidate actively interviewing I have entered final stages with other companies, while your team was still "passing the baton". The reason provided for my rejection was: the team has recently changed the profile of the felt that there are other candidates in the mix who are better suited for this particular role. -- I am sorry, but you should know the direction of this role when posting the position. There should be no reason why a candidate in the 4th round interview wouldn't be a "suited" for the role. The recruiter also couldn't state the salary range because she mentioned it was DOE and location of candidate. Is it inappropriate to have ambiguity in salary... So they should definitely be able to give a somewhat range. Every other company is able to provide one. There was 1 positive during my experience: I did appreciate the quick feedback after each round, and met some nice people.

      We appreciate your feedback and I hope to provide some clarity to how our process works! We do have a very in depth process, no doubt, and this is to ensure that it is a great fit for both sides. The nature of a startup is that things are constantly changing, so at times we will unfortunately have to pivot on what we are looking for to make sure the role is meeting the needs of the business. We recognize this may not be ideal, but we want to ensure alignment before the hire - not after! In terms of compensation, we hire across all markets therefore our roles will vary in compensation to ensure we are paying at market value. We hope that this makes sense, and we truly appreciate your time and engagement in our interview process!
