Upon entering the interview, it quickly became apparent that the interviewers had not reviewed my CV. It was uncomfortable to witness their attempts to sustain the conversation, seemingly to avoid appearing impolite. They were seeking someone to lead a department, rather than to be a part of it. Although I considered suggesting we conclude the interview early, I hoped they might have kept my name in consideration for other positions. In hindsight, it was a complete waste of time for all parties involved. It is crucial for their HR department to thoroughly review CVs and ensure candidates are appropriately matched to the roles for which they are being considered.
