      Entrevista

      I applied online a month ago and a week later, I decided to drop off my resume just to match a face with a name. A week goes by and the Team Manager sends me an email wanting to interview with me, even that was a little dragging due to the store being busy which I can understand. I finally had my interview on a Friday afternoon, making sure I went prepared and showed up 15 mins early. The actual interview went on for a solid hour and some change. He asked me the basic retail questions, what he and his manager were looking for and answered my questions along the way. I felt we connected very well and we actually knew the same few people from past jobs. I truly felt confident and was even told "Just in case we don't hire you, doesn't mean you can't get hired through the company. We can always pass you along to another store if they have something opened" Thursday evening I open my email from the Team Manager, reading thank you and a decline. "Your experience and skill set are not a direct match for this position". Louis's training is two weeks long, consisting of Paperwork, shadowing, being shadowed, and possibly being sent to another store. There's the Louis app which you can download on your phone, that has training models you can complete when the store's traffic is slow. So there shouldn't be an excuse for hiring someone who doesn't have "The skill set" if they do have the basics of clienteling. Louis is extremely particular about who they have as an ambassador, which is understandable due to the history and lifestyle the House promotes. But it seems like, you'll only have a shot of getting your foot in the door by being White or White Passing. Maybe it isn't a racial issue you would think it isn't with Virgil being Creative Director. It could just be about having connections. I hope this doesn't discourage anyone from applying, your experience can differ from mine. Good luck to everyone
