Took about a year from job offer to start. Had to go in for numerous tests and to submit documents over months. Course was cancelled and delayed but I eventually got put onto one and now I’m being supported lots since joining.

Entrevista
After being shortlisted, I attended a lifting assessment. I had to work with a partner to lift a 45kg mannequin up and down a flight of stairs. We took turns being at the foot and head end. The focus was lifting in sync. Passed that, then offered a 1 to 1 interview via Teams. Despite preparing, I sadly messed this up. Your answers have to stay relevant to the question, and link back to the Trust values as often as you can (respectful, professional, innovative, collaborative.) This has only fuelled my desire to get the job. I'll do better next time for sure.

6 main questions, split between the Paramedic side and HR side.
I don't know if these are always asked, or whether they like to mix things up. Anyhow:
- What is your motivation for wanting to join the London Ambulance Service?
- What are you not receiving now from your current job that you believe you will from joining the LAS?
-What do you think happens in the day in the life of an AAP?
-Can you tell me about a time when you experienced a stressful situation?
-Tell us what the Trust values are
-Can you tell me about a time when you dealt with a situation that involved respect?
I then was offered to ask the panel a question, which I'd prepared

Zoom interview with two people, friendly and supportive. Lots of questions asked but didn’t feel pressured or intense, fairly relaxed interview in the end. Took about 30 minutes with time at the end to ask questions
