This was an on campus interview here at my university and the recruiter was very friendly. We hit it off very nicely and at the end he told me that he will definitely be recommending me as a potential candidate. However, the caveat is that you still have to apply online at their website, which makes it seemed as though this interview cannot help advance you because the hiring manager (he was just an engineer in charge of recruiting) for each specific position will still look over your resume before calling you up. In other words, passing the 1st round will not get you a 2nd round. I heard from my other friends that they ask some weird on the spot questions to test your ability to "think on your feet."
