HR interview - not really much to say here, pretty standard questions about past experience
Interview with the Director of Product - Nice guy and definitely pleasant interview. He asked about my past experience and how I coped with various situation but there was no structure for the interview (e.g Product Sense\Execution interviews)
After the interview I got the home assignment which is to be completed within a week. The assignment is on the Lemonade product and you are required to suggest a new feature to a hypothetical issue they have. I worked on it a lot including during the weekend to complete.
After submission, the Director of Product came back to me via a phone call saying that we won't proceed in the process. The main takeway from this is that they are using the home assignment as an additional screening process without giving the opportunity to present it which I don't think is ok. If you are undecided about a candidate from the get go, don't make him spend a week on your product and not present it.
Positive takeaways:
1. Looks like an excellent company to be with and good people
2. They ran the process very fast with quick response between phases
3. The Director of Product called himself to discuss the rejection which I truly appreciate

I was initially excited to engage with Lemonade after being reached out to multiple times by the VP of Product regarding my specific expertise in Workflows and Agentic AI. Unfortunately, the actual screening process was highly uncoordinated and did not reflect the innovative image the company projects.

Entrevista
The interview process with Lemonade was pleasant and professional. The team was friendly, helpful, and transparent throughout. Completed screening, assignment, and panel rounds; showcased strategy for AI-driven claims fraud detection; focused on customer trust, automation, and balancing frictionless experience with fraud prevention.
I had a 1-hour interview that was quite pleasant and well-structured. After that, I was asked to complete a detailed home assignment. I invested a lot of time and effort into the presentation and submitted it on time. A few days later, I received a rejection with the explanation that my work "didn’t show depth in the insurance world" - which I understand, as I don’t come from an insurance background.
That said, it would have been more fair and efficient to assess that earlier in the process, rather than after a demanding take-home task. The experience felt like a waste of time, and the process lacked respect for the candidate’s effort. If deep industry knowledge was a deal-breaker, it should’ve been addressed upfront.
I hope the company reconsiders how it screens for role fit before asking for heavy take-home work.
